This is an invitation for all students to consider becoming an active part of the state professional society through the Student Intern Program.
The purpose of the ISRT Student Intern Program is to foster knowledgeable students with insight into the activities, functions, purpose and goals of the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists and to increase student participation and involvement in your professional organization. This is your opportunity to prepare yourself as a future leader in our profession.
The Student Intern Program offers students the opportunity to work closely with ISRT Board members in order to learn more about the activities, functions, purpose and goals of the Society. Students interested in becoming an ISRT Student Intern must be a member of the ISRT and must be available to attend all ISRT Board of Directors meetings, the ISRT Annual Conference and all Business Sessions. The one year term of the Student Intern would begin at the first ISRT Board meeting of the current year’s Annual Conference and would conclude at the close of the following year’s Annual Conference. A Student Intern can extend their service a second term if they choose simply by submitting a letter of intent to the ISRT Board of Directors.
**NOTE: If you are a 2nd year student, the Summer board meeting and the Annual Conference will typically occur after you have graduated. A Student Intern (first or second term) who graduates may continue the program as a technologist until the end of their term or they may withdraw from the program upon graduation by submitting a written letter to the ISRT Board of Directors.
Interested students should submit an application and other required documentation to the ISRT Secretary with an electronic postmark date no later than August 15 of the current calendar year. Questions concerning electronic submission (or concerns with being able to submit electronically) can be directed to the ISRT Secretary. You can also contact current ISRT President for additional information. The Student Intern Manual is located on the ISRT website at www.isort.org.
